Hi Sofia before i did MBBS i actually did Biomedical Science (Hons) at the International Medical University, Kuala Lumpur. It is a 3 year program whereby you can do all 3 years in Malaysia locally, or you can do the Twinning program (1.5 years in Malaysia + 1.5 years at the University of Newcastle Australia, or University of Otago New Zealand). If you do the twinning program, you will end up receiving a degree from whichever university you decided to go to overseas, and not a malaysian degree. This breakup of 1.5 years locally and overseas actually makes the degree quite affordable if you’re looking to get an overseas degree.

Correction:

1) There is an exit exam in the fifth year but it doesnt have much of an implication to the degree.
2) Mostly students are assessed in the fourth year where most of the “exit exams” are held. In that year alone, they have to sit and pass all their VIA, 2 EOS, and all OSCEs. They are expected to be competent prior to being released as a pre-intern in the fifth year which is why the exit exam doesn’t have much of a role.
3) Having that said, there might be change to the system where they might make passing the exit exam compulsory.

I m a Malaysian ,I graduated in Russia,i have undergoes houseman training in government hospital,but nvr completed,but I have completed all usmle step 1.2,3 and eligible to Registered in state, but I nvr get a medical residency in united state,plan to come bck.will they treat usmle (completed) as mrcp since both r postgraduate entry exam.currently I was doing mrcp part 1,just finish in London ?any suggestion ? If I apply bck government ,would I stil undergoes horsemanship again? How about if I pass even mrcp part 2 before enter,what they ll put me in,if u have idea?pls reply,ur help is much appreciated
