It was Sunday, 21st August, 2016. Kimberly’s nanny took emergency leave. So we had to take care of Kim on this day. We decided to take her to the zoo. Ironically, we have been staying in Johor Bahru over 20 years, yet we have not visited the zoo which is situated near to the city centre!
Alas, it was drizzling early in the morning. But this did not deter us from going. We sent Jung Ing to work. It was still early, so we went to Restoran Kin Hua at the city centre for traditional breakfast, with toast and also fried koay teow [flat rice noodles]. This place is very popular to tourists especially Singaporeans! Anyway, we didn’t find it special. May be we are not food enthusiast!
Expectedly we were the first visitors to the zoo! We went in with umbrellas. From her expression, we could feel Kim was very excited.
Comparatively, the zoo is quite small. Nevertheless, it is still worth visiting especially for kids. They will love to see the animals found there.
There’s even a small lake where you can go for boating for a small fee. There is also a small playground for kids to play. Not to forget, you can also go for pony ride beside the lake.
All in all, we took about 2 hours to complete the tour.
