For the 2016 Hari Raya Puasa festival we had 2 days off. So we decided to drive north to Sekinchan for a 2 day 1 night tour.

On the way, we stopped at Seni Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur to visit brother HB as they had just moved into their new condominium there. We had lunch at Hartamas Mall.

After lunch, we were on our way to Kuala Selangor.

After about an hours’ drive, we reached our destination  and checked into Apps Hotel. Alas, the hotel room really stinks!

There is a river at the back of the hotel and they organize expedition to see eagle feeding and firefly watching. When we reached there, the boat just left. So we didn’t wait for the next trip as we had already been to Kota Tinggi to watch the firefly.

Instead we drove up to Bukit Melawati to a have a panoramic view of part of Kuala Selangor. This hill is not very high, however it is still worth going up to have a look as there is nothing much you can do in Kuala Selangor.

It was dinner time. So we drove around Kuala Selangor to look around seafood restaurant.

Notice the waste bins at the front of the restaurant? I found that the hygiene level of this restaurant is not up to our expectatiion.

We went to Bagan Restaurant, but it was very crowded! Moreover,  there were few waste bins to greet us  at the entrance! Not happy with this restaurant,   so we drove to Sekinchan for dinner. It is about 25 km away from Kuala Selangor. Alas, The  restaurants here close at 9.00 pm during public holidays! We went to three restaurants before this non-air conditioned restaurant accepted us! Sekinchan is full of tourists. All the restaurants are fully packed with patrons.

The next morning we drove north again to Restaurant Jiann Chyi Sekinchan for our breakfast. This restaurant is famous for catfish porridge.

Business was so good that they kept on chasing away the patrons as they couldn’t cope up with the big crowd!

After breakfast we proceeded to Pantai Redang to visit the Chinese temple and to seek some good fortune and prosperity!

Then it was a visit to PLS  Paddy Gallery to see how paddy is planted and processed. It was quite informative and educational. Too bad, harvesting period was already over. So we didn’t get to see the green paddy field!
