  • Not recommending Psychiatry Oxford Core Text. This is the simplified version. Lecturer use Oxford Textbook of Psychiatry, which is much thicker.
  • I recommend use crash course and sypnosis together. Must finish reading crash course from page to page and read important topics from sypnosis (Schizophrenia, Bipolar, Depression)

    • Disease of ear, nose and throat (PL Dhingra) (buy)
      • 4 ed. Buy the green cover version, RM 30-40, same quality as the blue cover, RM 70

Apley’s System of Orthopaedic & Fracture 8 ed.

Physical Examination – Lee Joon Keong                1 ed       Recommended Buy

Clinical Orthopaedic Examination – Ronald McRae          5 ed       Recommended Soft copy

Not recommending Concise System of Orthopaedic & Fracture because lecturers expect more than in the book. Reading the Apley’s System (thicker) is more tedious but easier to understand and have better basics.

For PE, flip through Lee Joon Keong’s book just to get a rough how the examination is. Then ask lecturers to teach and demo, easier to understand that way. No need to memorize the book.

If need better understanding on PE, read McRae. It explains and there’s anatomy section in it also. But I did not have time to read that.

The above books reviews and comments were not from me.. its compilation of the seniors book lists..

The books I bought:

  1. Simpson’s Forensic Medicine
  2. Psychiatry Oxford Core Text
  3. Psychiatry Crash Course
  4. DSM-IV
  5. Apley’s System of Orthopaedic & Fracture – Mama edition
  6. Physical Examination – Lee Joon Keong
  7. Diseases of Ear, Nose & Throat – PL Dhingra
  8. Ophthalmology Illustrated
  9. Ophthalmology Lecture notes
