After few days of playing around with it.. i have installed a few medical apps..

The following pictures are screen shots from my iPhone..

I have:

  1. Netter’s Anatomy Flash Cards
  2. Netter’s Advanced Head and Neck Flash Cards
  3. Netter’s Musculoskeletal Flash Cards
  4. Netter’s Neuroscience Flash Cards
  5. Netter’s Histology Flash Cards
  6. Boards Review Series: Pharmacology Flash Cards
  7. Lange Pathology Flash Cards
  8. Lange Microbiology Flash Cards
  9. Eponyms
  10. Diagnosaurus DDx

I have more in the iPhone but i’ll expain the 10 medical apps mentioned above first..

Lets go to the first 5.. Netter’s Anatomy..

We have the book Netter’s Anatomy and now i have the iphone version of it..

img_0002.png

Those head and nec, musculo etc are more specific but the Netter’s Anatomy Flash Cards is the general view of all systems..

img_0002.png

So when u click on the bone u want to see for example, the picture will pop out..

Then the picture has lots pin.. when u tap on the pin, the name of the part of the bone will show up..

As shown in the picture above, i tapped on interosseous membrane.. so the pin became purple colour showing the part of it..

The same method applies to all the Netter’s Flash Cards..

I think these apps are very useful when u forget the part and wanna refresh back ur memory when u’re in hospital and i dont think u will bring ur anatomy book along..

Next is the Boards Review Series: Pharmacology Flash Cards

img_0002.png

I’m not too familiar with this yet.. but i think is a kind of notes..
img_0002.png

For example the above.. When u tap again.. Then the following will show the drugs that are potassium-sparing diuretics that do not have anti-androgenic effects..

img_0002.png

I think i wont use this apps much.. haha..

Next is Lange Pathology Flash Cards
img_0002.png

In the disease index, u can choose from the system..Cardio, musculo, GIT etc..

Lets say i chose Cardio then MI..

img_0002.png

Then the first part they will give u a trigger…

Then the Etiology, Pathology etc.. It’s a kind of notes as well..

img_0002.png

Can be useful sometimes.. maybe?

Next is the Lange Microbiology Flash Cards
img_0002.png

Same as the pathology flash cards, microbiology flash card has the disease index as well..

When i clicked on Gram +ve rod..

Then they will show a list of diseases can be caused by Gram +ve Rod..

I chose Meningitis..

img_0002.png

Then at first the trigger then all the info u need..
img_0002.png

Same as Pthology Flash card, it’s a kind of notes..

Next is Eponyms

img_0002.png

What’s that?? example is the best explanation :D

Trousseau’s Sign.. Familiar? Yes, we learnt before..
img_0002.png

Quite useful in case i forgot what’s those sign..

All right.. the last one for today is the Diagnosaurus DDx
img_0002.png

For me, i think this is the best man!!

Differential Diagnosis for a symptom!

Example.. Chest pain..
img_0002.png

They categorize the diagnosis into system.. Cardio, GI etc..

Quite good.. like the Little Book of Causes?

Not sure..

More coming up in the next post..
