Anyway, still considering since my friend Kumar, who used Iphone and HTC Touch HD before commented that Iphone sucks big time!

walao, on first look itself the plan is insane wei, so expensive, contract so long, and some more sms not included! good luck in getting one cuz if i were you i’d rather buy an unlock model…bundled with the tariffs it doesn’t seem worth it!
yeah, the plan is crazy.. cheapest is RM3400++ with the 6 months contract. KNS.. come liao as if din come.. go get HTC better.. but HTC Touch HD is RM3299.. :rclxub:

and you know the best thing? phones are designed to last 18 months. so your investment of RM3k +++ is for something that was made to last roughly 18 months. Stupid right?
i dont know why in malaysia and singapore phones are seen to be some kind of “status symbol”. i think its more of a stupidity symbol.
for example, those ah bengs who just buy the most expensive phone they can find, to show off, even though the most expensive phones tend to be bulky business models lolz…which they never use the features of.
i do use my touch HD as a laptop replacement when on the go, i also use microsoft one note mobile for taking notes in lectures and tutorials. the note taking abilities of the iphone are ridiculously bad.
anyway im gonna be busy for the next week or so, i wont be able to do that review for you at the moment, maybe after the workload goes back down.
perhaps some people’s mentality over there are still not mature enough kumar. Or maybe it’s because that phones here are cheaper compared to the phones there since GBP is stronger than the RM, and as a result it’s not viewed as a symbol status. Oh well all I can say is that if they choose to be “stupid” it’s their choice, we can’t possibly interfere with their personal autonomy now can we?
i think out of the three plans, avoid the 24-month’s, they are too long and you’re bound to get sick if you want to stick with a phone for two years…besides they are not substantially cheaper as well. The better option would be either the 6 month or 12 month plan, with the cheapest tarifts. 333 minutes per month should be ok la, 11 minutes per day…talk more with your sweet heart lo hehe.
Nah, i have a family plan right now and she’s one of the sub-line of my dad.. haha.. so everything is free.. most probable will be HTC Touch HD which i’ll get from SG at Price of RM2300+- much much cheaper than Malaysia if converted to RM.. but will consult kumar first.. haha..
actually what i need is to install med apps, view power point slide and E-book in a big screen.. i don play games or listen to music.. can i do that while in the hospital anyway? hehe..
then as kumar said, connecting internet through PDA phone to Laptop.. then other functions i dont really care much.. GPS yes, an additive features to me.. since i get lost quite often.. haha..
basically big screen is my priority.. i don like looking at a small screen.. I’m using N73 now.. still ok for viewing Power point slide in landscape mode but no med apps can be installed.. Not for Symbian at least.. n N73 is v slow now.. at least 5-10 sec for loading a power point.. that’s gay..
google maps works flawlessly on the HD, and the screen is absolutely stunning.
for the usage you described i think you’d be much happier with the HD. i’ll be landing in changi on the 28th of march. if you want to test drive my HD you can be my guest.
i have several other windows mobile devices as well, lol. i’ve got loads of phones at the moment.

Not sure about HTC devices , but I used to be a WM lover (and ex-PalmOS Developer). For me , WM devices aren’t that great and not to mention that Windows Mobile itself sucks in general (sorry peeps , I am *nix guy). I am not sure about you , but I am using HTC P3600 and most of the time it just sucks as in sometimes you’ll have to soft reset every now and then
I am thinking of getting an iPhone too , but the plans are expensive. The reason why I am going with iPhone is the beauty of it and not to mention that it runs DARWIN , full blown *nix in my pocket. I’ll be like a geek carrying it around and accessing terminals and cping large files (if you know what i mean)
Its up to you. If you’re more of a windows guy and want it to just work. Windows mobile would do fine , but however me being a mac user and a linux user (and yes I do use Windows just for gaming) , I find iPhone has more advantages over WM devices (some may disagree with this)
