Spontaneous pneumothorax ( Lung Collapse )

Some important facts before i begin..

Spontaneous pneumothorax is a sudden collection of air or gas in the chest that causes the lung to collapse in the absence of a traumatic injury to the chest or lung. Usually, a distinction is made between a spontaneous (primary) pneumothorax, and secondary (complicated) pneumothorax.

Symptoms include:

  • Chest pain on affected side
  • Dyspnea (shortness of breath)
  • Cough
  • Abnormal breathing movement
  • Rapid respiratory rate

Ok.. This is the lung disease that i had suffered when i was in Lower 6 in STPM..Before i got this disease, i went to Prefect Training course.. And went to jungle tracking.. Whole body got wet because we “walked” along the river..Dirty river i suppose.. And my dad believed that the river was part of the causes of this disease.. When i was form 1, 13 years old, i was an athlete and represented the school in field events..100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100m and 4x400m.. So i trained everyday and my lung capacity will be slightly “bigger” than normal people who didn’t went through this type of training..

When i got into form 2 onwards, i quit and seldom exercise since i started to catch up in my studies.. And.. until form 6, 18 years old, the problem came.. Sometimes I could feel my right lung pained a bit and the pain gone..Usually at night..So the “real” pain came that night..I told my dad and he decided to take me to Puteri Specialist Hospital..Registered and waited for around an hour.. My turn..

I told the doctor how i felt and he began using the stethoscope to examine my front chest and back.. He said he couldn’t hear any weird noise or something.. So he said should be normal.. Maybe did push-up then pulled the muscle.. So will pain abit..

But he added : ” As a safety precaution, I think you should do an ECG (electrocardiogram).”

My dad : “Ok,let’s do it..”

So i went to the room to do the ECG..The doctor said a bit weird on the graph so suggested to do an X-ray.. And..i did it too..

TO BE CONTINUED..Tired..haha..sorry..
